AgriStore di Cosenza V.Decolorizing activated carbon is a plant-derived product, specifically designed for wines and vinegars.
It is a type of activated carbon treated with phosphoric acid, visually presented in pellet form and supplied in 1 kg bags.
The use of this product is authorised by the EEC in controlled doses. Therefore, to achieve the best results, carbons with a high degree of activation and large adsorption surfaces have been selected. In this regard, it is important to specify that the product fully complies with national and Community regulations.
How to use decolorizing carbon
First, it is necessary to determine the required quantity to obtain a satisfactory result. This is done by carrying out several preliminary laboratory tests. The amount used must never exceed 100 g/hL, which is the legal limit.
Then add the carbon to the batch and agitate about every 15 minutes. The carbon acts by contact, so wait for the product to settle completely to the bottom and rack.
If sedimentation is too slow or the beverage is needed urgently, filtration can be performed.
