What machines should be used for proper grape crushing?

After harvesting, the grapes need to be crushed to extract the must and pomace. For this stage, we offer various solutions suitable for every type of production. For small amateur producers, we provide a range of crushers, both manual and motorized, with a maximum estimated working capacity of 600–800 kg for the most advanced models. This type of machine simply presses the grapes, including stems and berries.

For those who wish to automate the separation of berries from stems, we recommend purchasing a destemmer-crusher, also available in both manual and motorized versions with various productivity levels to suit individual needs.

The next level of crushing equipment is the destemmer. These machines are designed to remove stems and crush the berries without using rollers, thanks to the combined action of the destemming shaft and pump, which also transfers the must into fermentation and storage tanks.
A professional-grade solution is the destemmer-crusher without a built-in pump (optional), but equipped with rollers to ensure gentle crushing for producing high-quality wines.

Types of wine presses: choose the one that suits your needs

The pressing phase is one of the most iconic steps in winemaking, as it helps increase total yield by extracting the most from the pomace.

There are various types of grape presses. The simplest are manual presses made of stamped steel basins, wooden cages, and mechanical screw mechanisms. These are the classic wine presses suitable for small and medium producers.

The hydraulic press is particularly suitable for medium-scale productions and for those who wish to ease the pressing effort. These are essentially an evolution of lever presses and differ in their hydraulic head, which reduces operator effort using hydraulic pressure.

For large productions, we recommend pneumatic-hydraulic presses that, in their electric version, feature a jack return and almost fully automated hydraulic presses.

Monitor fermentation and store must in quality containers

Fermentation is certainly the most delicate and important phase in winemaking. That’s why it requires special attention and the right tools. To this end, we’ve gathered for you some very useful and easy-to-use items, such as measuring instruments like the must meter, vinometer, hydrometer, and accessories like airlocks, fermentation locks, hydraulic stoppers for demijohns, and more.

If corrections are needed, our must/wine care section includes acidity regulators, clarifiers, stabilizers, and other products to bring your must to the desired levels.

To mature and age the wine, you can choose between wooden barrels (chestnut or oak) and stainless steel tanks, available with air or oil floating lids and flat or conical bottoms.

Chestnut barrels are mostly used by traditionalists and are suitable for annual use, while oak barrels are better suited for aging processes.

Stainless steel containers stand out for their high hygiene standards, ease of cleaning, reliability (they don’t absorb liquids and therefore don’t retain flaws from previous batches), and durability, offering a much longer life than wooden barrels.

Use wine filters to remove residues and finish with your custom label

How to choose winemaking products

Choosing the right winemaking products depends on the processing stage, the quantity of grapes or wine to be handled and the result you want to achieve.
