How to choose fruit presses and basket presses

Fruit presses and basket presses are used to compress the product once it has been prepared, helping extract the liquid. They are suitable for domestic use, hobby processing or small-scale production, depending on the model chosen and the available capacity.

The choice depends on the type of fruit to be pressed, the quantity to be processed and the level of practicality required. A small multi-purpose press may be enough for tests, infusions or small quantities, while a press or hydropress is more suitable when the product volume increases.

Small multi-purpose presses

Small multi-purpose presses are suitable for small batches and versatile use. They can be used to crush or press fruit, myrtle berries, infusions for liqueurs and other foods compatible with the type of product.

These are compact solutions, useful when a large processing capacity is not required and you are looking for equipment that is simple to use.

Manual fruit presses

The manual fruit press is recommended when you need to press fruit that has already been prepared, such as apples, pears or other products suitable for pressing. Pressure is applied manually, allowing the liquid to be gradually separated from the solid part.

Before use, the fruit must be suitable for pressing. In many cases, it may be useful to break or crush it first, making the following pressing stage more effective.

Versatile small presses

Versatile small presses are sturdy solutions designed for different processing needs. They can be used for fruit, grape pomace, myrtle berries and other products compatible with the machine structure.

The choice between a painted frame and stainless steel depends on the intended use, working frequency and the type of product to be processed.

Fruit hydropresses

Fruit hydropresses use water pressure to compress the product evenly. They are recommended when you want to make the pressing stage more practical and less tiring than with a fully manual system.

They can be useful for processing prepared fruit and obtaining juices or liquids for further processing.

Difference between a fruit crusher, basket press and press

The fruit crusher is used in the previous stage: it breaks and crushes the fruit. The basket press or press is used afterwards, when the product is ready to be compressed and pressed.

For this reason, the two types of equipment can be complementary: first the fruit is prepared with the fruit crusher, then it is pressed using a basket press, small press or hydropress.
