American Oak Chips - Medium Toast - 250 g
PintaAmerican oak chips, medium toast. Medium-toasted American oak shavings deliver the intense aromas you’d expect from ageing in an American oak barrel. These oak chips are ideal for English and Scotch Ales, Stouts, Porters, Brown IPAs and some bitters; they’re also used in certain dark Belgian-style ales.
Add to beer or wine during maturation. For best results, steam-sterilise for around 15 minutes before use to prevent contamination. Using a hop filter bag is recommended to remove the chips easily from the wort. Alternatively, make an infusion by boiling the oak chips in a small amount of water for 10–15 minutes, then add the filtered decoction to the wort according to the intensity you want.
