Priming Tank for Beer - 300 to 1000 L
The priming tank is an essential piece of equipment for carrying out the carbonation process. This model has been designed, engineered and manufactured entirely in Italy.
Priming consists of the addition of CO2 at the end of fermentation. To achieve the best results, it is necessary to use a pressure-tight vessel (also known as a keg). Inside this tank, a system drives the rotation of a stainless-steel paddle shaft to thoroughly mix the added sugar with the beer.
The success of this operation depends heavily on the mixer shaft speed. For this reason, our unit is equipped with a geared motor with speed reduction.
The beer priming tank is also designed to minimize oxidation, which can cause unpleasant aromas and flavors in the beer.
Priming and its advantages
As mentioned above, priming is simply a carbonation process that adds CO2 to beer. From a practical point of view, it allows you to obtain a beer with more gas and therefore a livelier, more sparkling mouthfeel.
While homebrewers typically solve this by adding sugar directly into bottles—effectively creating a secondary fermentation—professional producers such as breweries and microbreweries cannot realistically follow this approach.
Since bottle-by-bottle processing is not feasible at production scale, breweries equip their facilities with tools like this tank.
