Calcium Carbonate 1 kg
AgriStore di Cosenza V.Calcium carbonate, also known as calcium carbonate, is a non-aggressive product free of harmful substances, with nutritive and absorbent properties that make it suitable for various uses. Among these are winemaking as a wine deacidifier and use as a fertiliser in agriculture.
Calcium carbonate: wine deacidification
It is the ideal product to use when a wine shows particularly high acidity values.
For planning dosages, note that 0.66 grams (per hL) of calcium carbonate reduce the presence of tartaric acid by 1 gram per litre.
Before carrying out wine deacidification, it is advisable to run trials on small quantities of liquid to determine the correct ratio and thus the exact amount to use on the total mass.
The use of calcium carbonate in vineyards
Using calcium carbonate on vines in vineyards helps promote the lignification process, allowing greater resistance during winter.
Other uses of calcium carbonate in agriculture
Other uses of calcium carbonate concern sustainable, eco-friendly agriculture, where it is employed as a fertiliser, an additive in pesticide production and as animal feed.
In plants it helps promote vigorous, healthy growth. In soils where this substance is lacking, plant and leaf growth may be hindered. In agriculture it can be used on both arable and ornamental/floricultural soils.
Correcting soil pH in acidic soils:
- sandy: from 18 to 36 quintals per hectare;
- loamy: from 36 to 54 quintals per hectare;
- clayey: from 54 to 90 quintals per hectare.
