95-Liter Steam Distillation Still - Coil Condenser (Copper)

The 95-liter steam distillation still – coil condenser, also known as an essential oil distiller, is ideal for steam distillation of all types of essential oils. It uses a coil-cooling system and a filter column fitted between the boiler and the pre-chamber to improve reflux and filtration. Made entirely of copper, it includes an analog thermometer to monitor the boiler's internal temperature so you can separate the heads, hearts and tails of your run.

This essential oil alembic is handcrafted in Italy by master copper artisans and has a thickness of 1.2 mm.

Using the still is straightforward: fill the boiler with water, place the botanicals on the copper mesh inside the filter column, which locks onto the boiler, then fit the water-cooled condenser. Connect the inlet and outlet hoses for continuous cooling circulation and place the unit directly over the heat source.

The distillate obtained will initially be a mixture of aromatic water and essential oil. Let it rest so the different specific gravities allow the two components to separate, or use a separating funnel to speed up the process.

The still is suitable for producing essential oils for perfumes, liqueurs and remedies, as well as spirits such as grappa, brandy, whisky and fruit distillates. It can also be used for high-proof alcohol such as vodka, where legally permitted.

We recommend pairing the distiller with a separating funnel to simplify the separation of essential oils from the aromatic water.
