The horizontal centrifugal destemmer is a machine designed for medium and large producers, manufactured in Italy and made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel. It is equipped with a stainless steel centrifugal basket with a diameter of 30 cm which, during operation, rotates in the same direction as the destemming shaft fitted with rubber-coated paddles to prevent the stems from tearing.

How does the horizontal centrifugal destemmer work?

The operation of the centrifugal destemmer is very simple. The grapes are poured into the loading hopper where there is a screw conveyor. As it rotates, it carries the bunches into the centrifugal basket where the rotation produces both crushing and separation of the stems, which are expelled from the basket outlet. The must produced is discharged by the centrifugal pump, which can transfer it to the fermentation tanks up to 18 metres horizontally and 5 metres vertically.

This model of horizontal centrifugal destemmer is equipped with a 3 HP motor that provides the machine with the power needed to reach an hourly output estimated between 45 and 55 quintals, and it is fitted with a frame system that allows it to be fully opened by tilting the loading hopper. This opening system makes cleaning and maintenance operations easier and more effective.
