The glass continuous separatory funnel is designed to separate essential oil from aromatic water during the distillation of herbs.
Herb distillation produces a mixture of essential oil and aromatic water. Traditional separation requires allowing the mixture to settle before collecting the oil with a pipette or an oil-removal pump. This can be a lengthy process.
How the Continuous Essential Oil Separator Works
The separator uses the difference in density between the two liquids. Unlike a manual separating funnel, it can be positioned directly beneath the distillate outlet.
The mixture enters the separator, where the essential oil separates from the water. A dedicated system automatically channels the essential oil, simplifying the separation process.
