The alcoholmeter is a measuring instrument calibrated for checking ethyl alcohol and demineralised water at 20°C. The measurement must be taken in a container of suitable size, in which the alcoholmeter can float freely without touching the sides. To perform the measurement, immerse it slowly in the liquid until the correct balance is reached between the mass of the glass body and the mass of displaced liquid.
Features of the alcoholmeter without thermometer:
- Measurement scale from 0 to 100°;
- Graduations at 5° up to 50° and then at 2°.
NB: The alcoholmeter is not suitable for measuring the alcohol content of wine or other sugar-containing mixtures. It is supplied with a protective case, which is not suitable for use as a test cylinder; a separate cylinder is recommended.
