The 3-liter steam distillation still – mushroom condenser, also known as an essential oil distiller, is ideal for steam distillation (hydrodistillation) of a wide range of essential oils. It features a direct-cooling “mushroom” head and a filter column fitted between the boiler and the pre-chamber to enhance reflux and filtration. Made entirely of copper, it includes a thermometer to read the boiler’s internal temperature so you can separate the heads, hearts, and tails of your run. Handcrafted by Italian master artisans, the base has a thickness of 1.03 mm.
Suitable for the production of essential oils (perfumes, liqueurs, remedies) and for spirits (grappa, brandy, whisky, fruit distillates, etc.). It can also be used for high-proof alcohol such as vodka, where legally permitted.
We recommend pairing the extractor with a separating funnel to simplify separation of essential oils from the aromatic water (hydrosol).
