What is linseed oil used for in agriculture?

This formulation is approved for organic farming and works as a plant strengthening agent to improve natural plant resistance. Essentially, it’s a natural remedy that creates a hostile environment for pests such as scale insects, aphids, and mites.

In agriculture, linseed oil is also appreciated for its antifungal properties. Some fungal diseases it helps to combat include powdery mildew, white mold, and rust.

Linseed oil for plants works mainly through physical mechanisms, forming a protective layer on the leaf surface. This layer limits the availability of nutrients and colonization space for fungi, hindering their growth and spread. Additionally, it may exert direct fungicidal action by damaging fungal cell structures.

It is the ideal product to boost the defenses of vegetables, fruit trees, and ornamental plants such as roses and orchids.

How to use linseed oil on plants?

It’s important to note that linseed oil is not a systemic fungicide, and therefore its effectiveness lies in prevention or early-stage control of fungal infections. It should be applied evenly on affected plants and reapplied as needed.

When mixed with copper- or sulfur-based formulations, its composition allows for a 25–30% reduction in dosage as it increases the average size of sprayed droplets, reducing evaporation speed and enhancing contact surface area.

The product is supplied as a concentrated liquid emulsion, to be diluted in water. This format is particularly economical, as one 1-liter bottle can yield up to 200 liters of sprayable solution.
